Kumba II Council Refurbishes Classrooms To Enhance Learning The Kumba II Subdivisional Council in Meme Division has carried out an extensive refurbishment of classrooms in Government Bilingual Primary School, GBPS, Kosala; a basic education institution in kumba II Municipality.The exercise involved two blocks of seven classrooms and four offices.The initiative served as a significant stride in enhancing learning and improving educational facilities in the municipality. It specifically targeted these classrooms that had fallen into disrepair and were in urgent need for refurbishment.Prior to the renovation, pupils and teachers faced numerous challenges as a result of the poor state of the classrooms and offices especially during the rainy season.This hindered effective teaching and learning in the institution.Being sensitive to the plight of denizens in the municipality as usual, especially young learners and teachers, the kumba II Subdivisional Council headed by Mayor Chief Mbachu Jacob Kay, promptly made an intervention in ameliorating the situation.The intervention has come to create a conducive environment as the teaching and earning process is now stress-free Receiving the refurbished blocks of classrooms and offices on Wednesday, October 22, from the First Deputy Mayor of Kumba II Subdivisional Council, Aladji Nasiro Ibrahim Audu, representing the mayor, Dr Joana Mbone Ebako, representing the Inspector of Basic Education for kumba II Subdivision, expressed immense gratitude to kumba II Subdivisional Council for the gesture.She noted it was timely, taking into consideration the start of the new school year.The Basic Education Inspector’s representative called on parents to send their children to school in this era of digitalization.She said children have a future and parents should not allow them to stay at home.Meanwhile, the representative of the mayor urged the school administration to make judicious use of the refurbished facility.Nasiro made a promised that the kumba II Subdivisional Council will attend to the other structures on campus destroyed during the socio-political upheavals.The refurbishment has given a fresh impetus to the institution in need of infrastructural development.The gift is a Public Investment Project, PIP, for 2025, executed by the kumba II Subdivisional Council.
