All roads will lead to OKoroba village, Eyumojock Subdivision, Manyu Division of the South West Region, for the first-ever Obang Cultural Festival.
The festival to begin on December 18, will wrap up on December 21, 2025.
According to the Coordinator of the Obang Cultural Festival, His Royal Highness Dr Oruh Julius Agbor, the festival will bring together sons and daughters of the Obang clan, at home and abroad, who will showcase the rich culture of the clan.
Among the cultural displays, there will be an exhibition of traditional dances by the 15 Obang villages.
From the outline, the various villages will present these dances.
Bakogo will present Amgbu and Atimambi; Akak will have Okpe and atimambis; Bayenti will do Beloh; Etinkem will display Mboko and 2 atimambis; Okoroba will showcase Ndim and atimambi; Bayip Assibong has been allocated Bachung; Mbinda Tabo will do Nkanda; Osselle has Amgbu and Kekum; Bakut will display Monikim and Ekpa; Ekogati has Echick Ekong; Mgbegati will go in for Okongo; Abat will showcase Nsiberik; Basu will thrill Bachung; Bajoh has Atimambi; and, Bayip Ossing will animate the Bekoko dance.
The festival will also be characterised by sporting activities such as football, handball, and others.
The event will be an opportunity to raise concerns on continuous efforts to disenclave the Obang clan.
The Obang Cultural Festival comes few months after the 4th edition of an excellence award organised by the Obang Solidarity Initiative, OSI, coordinated by His Royal Highness Dr Oruh Julius Agbor of OKoroba village.
